Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Settleo, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

2. The Service

Settleo helps groups — friends, roommates, travel groups, and similar — track and split shared expenses, calculate balances, and record settlements between members.

Settleo is intended for adults. It is not directed to, and you may not use it if you are under, 18 years of age.

3. Accounts and Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us promptly at play@settleo.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Acceptable Use / Prohibited Conduct

When using Settleo, you agree not to:

• Use the service for any fraudulent, unlawful, or unauthorized purpose.
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security or proper functioning of the service.
• Abuse the service — including harassment of other users, uploading malicious content, or attempting to access data that is not yours.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the service without our prior written consent.

5. Paid Features — Travel Pass

Settleo offers optional paid Travel passes for a group's trip: a 15-day pass (settleo_travel_15d) and a 30-day pass (settleo_travel_30d). These are non-renewing, consumable purchases — each pass unlocks premium features for a fixed period and does not automatically renew or convert into a recurring subscription.

Travel passes are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase on iOS. Billing, payment processing, and receipts are handled entirely by Apple under its own terms. We do not collect or store your payment card details.

Purchases are non-refundable, except where required by Apple's refund policy. Refund requests must be made directly to Apple through your device or the App Store.

6. Intellectual Property

Settleo, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose.

You retain all rights to the content and data you create or upload — group names, expenses, receipts, and similar — subject to the license you grant us to store and process it in order to provide the service.

7. Disclaimers

Settleo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including — to the extent permitted by law — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Settleo and Jheysson Urbano will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. You may stop using Settleo and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting play@settleo.app.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the app or by email before they take effect.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Peru, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Settleo will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Peru.

Settleo is operated by Jheysson Urbano, an individual based in Peru.
